Jessica Wong and Vanessa Lee bring style, sass and fun into kitchens with their unique aprons.

"My business partner and I have been chums since high school," entrepreneur Jessica Wong says.

Wong and her buddy Vanessa Lee own Domistyle Inc. (www.domistylegifts.com), a company that creates funky aprons for the modern and stylish hostess. Domistyle designs, manufactures and markets its aprons to both wholesale and retail clients.

One day the two friends went looking for aprons and couldn't find any they liked. They realized there was a gap in the marketplace and decided they could bring something fun and lighthearted into kitchens everywhere.

Knowing they worked well together and possessed complementary skills in art and commerce, Wong and Lee formed their company four years ago.

The entrepreneurs definitely have fun.

"Each apron is silk-screened with a hand-drawn original piece of artwork and embroidered with a cute and clever message such as 'Will Cook for Shoes' or 'Caution - Hot Dish,'" Lee says.

Wong says she's learned the importance of keeping each other motivated no matter how much work there is to do. "We do a lot of the work ourselves, so it's a challenge to keep energy levels up when we're both juggling every aspect of the company."

However, Lee says their trick is to focus on the results their company is achieving. "It's so exciting to see results materialize from our ideas," she says. "We draw a lot of energy from the positive feedback we receive from our clients and the industry." Clearly on a roll, Domistyle plans to expand its product line to include other home and kitchen accessories and to further develop its brand in the United States.
